  3. It allows cash credit at a subsidised rate of interest to farmers
  4. The credit limit varies from scheme to scheme but does not generally exceed Rs 3.00 lakh
  5. It offers a flexible repayment schedule after the harvest season and enables the rescheduling of payments in case of a bad crop season.
  6. Any number of withdrawals can be made, within the credit limit.
  7. Repayment- only after harvest and marketing.

Eligibility

  • (A) Inland Fisheries & Aquaculture-
    • Fishers, Fish farmers (individual & groups/partners/share croppers/lease holder farmers), Self Help Groups, Joint Liability Groups and women Groups, are eligible.
  • (B) Marine Fisheries –
    • owner of registered fishing vessels/boats.
    • posses necessary license/permission from the competent authority for fishing in estuaries and in the sea, fish farming/pisciculture activities in estuaries and in open seas.

What is the Credit Limit of MJCC

The credit limit for the Matsya Jeebi Credit Card (MJCC) is based on the area under pisciculture as well as culture type. The maximum credit limit for new cardholders is Rs. 2 lakh.

Documents required for MJCC

The following documents are required for the Matsya Jeebi Credit Card (MJCC) scheme:

  • Proof of identity: Self-attested copy of voter ID card, Aadhaar card, or other government-issued ID card.
  • Proof of residence: Self-attested copy of voter ID card, Aadhaar card, or other government-issued ID card, along with a recent electricity bill or telephone bill.
  • Proof of income: Self-attested copy of income tax return, salary slip, or other proof of income.
  • Proof of land ownership: Self-attested copy of land ownership documents, such as a lease deed or patta.
  • Business documents: Self-attested copy of business registration certificate, if applicable.
  • Photo: Two passport-size photographs of the applicant.

In addition to the above documents, some banks may also require additional documents, such as a certificate from the local panchayat or municipality.

To apply for WBMJCC follow the below-mentioned steps :

  • First, go to the West Bengal Matsyajeebi Credit card portal.
  • Click on the “Fisherman Login” button.
  • Enter Your Registration Number and Click on the “Send OTP” button.
  • Enter Your Login OTP and Click on the “Validate OTP” button.
  • Now you are logged in successfully as a Fisherman.
  • Click on the “Apply for MJCC” button or you can also click on “Application Form”.
  • Fill in the details of your MJCC project and your bank-related information.
  • Fill in the details of the Location of the waterbody and the Insurance details of the waterbody (if any).
    • For uploading the Ownership document click on any of the options and there will be two options to select (Own/Lease).
    • If you select ‘Own’ then there will appear owner partisanship type of waterbody options and if you select ‘Lease’ then there will be appear lease type of waterbody options.
  • If you choose ‘Own’ then you will have to select either ‘Single Ownership’ or ‘Multiple Ownership’.
  • If you choose ‘Lease’ then you will have to select either ‘Written Lease’ or ‘Oral Lease’.
  • If you choose ‘Multiple Ownership’ then there will appear an option of uploading NOC from other owners.
  • If you choose ‘Written Lease’ then there will be an option of uploading a Lease Agreement. If you choose ‘Oral Lease’ then there will appear an option of uploading a Certificate of FEO for oral lease.
  • In the Upload Documents part, you have three options for Fisherman Identity Proof Aadhar card, Fisherman Registration Card and Any other identity proof (PAN card, Voter ID card, or any other government ID proof).
  • After selecting fisherman identity proof there will appear a file upload option underneath it.
  • Before submitting the form you will have to check the ‘I agree’ checkbox otherwise you will not be able to submit the application form.
  • Now you can save or submit the form.
    • (Note: If you just save the form then the form details, for applying the form click on the ‘SUBMIT’ button.)
  • After submitting the form you will see the pop-up success message on the screen.
